To celebrate our 400th show, we decided to hand the reigns over to some of our favorite, most treasured guests/friends we've had over 8+ years of doing this show. Not only are we so fortunate to have lasted long enough to produce 400 shows.. but we're also fortunate to have made so many friends along the way. Hard to imagine my father and I would become friends with and get to know so many of the artists that shaped our lives.
Tonight, for the first time, we're glad to fade (mostly) into the background, as we let these brilliant artists share their favorite songs and some of the stories behind them. Our 300th show is a tribute to the Golden Age of Rock & Roll Radio. Producer Pete, my father Frank, and myself will take you on a journey to a time when radio wasn't just something you used to pass time in your car. The relationship radio played in most (if not all of our lives), was as instrumental as the music itself. Alan Freed, Cousin Brucie Morrow, Jocko Henderson, Herb Oscar Anderson, Dan Ingram, Harry Harrison, Jerry Blavin, B Morris Reed, Ron Lundy, and so many others, preached the gospel of R&R music. They were the prophets, although they were everyday people like you and I. They played the records (sometimes flipped them over, too), and gave us "Theater of the Mind". They took us away from our daily grind to give us the sound of a generation, and of built the foundation for every generation SINCE. This story hadn't been told prior, so there was no road map to follow.
These DJ's made us feel as if we were right there in the studio with them. This week we pay tribute to THEM, by bringing those personalities into the studio with US.
We've also invited some of our dearest DooWop friends & family to share THEIR memories: Charlie Thomas (The Drifters), Peggy/Bibbs/Jiggs (The Angels), George & Phil (The Mystics), Harry Maitland (The Tributes), and more!

As some of you may've heard, Sunday March 30th was our last show on 1160 WOBM-AM. We're so grateful for the opportunity to deliver our favorite DooWop songs & artists for the past 3 years, especially to our friends in the New Jersey shore area. However, with change comes new opportunities, and we're excited to say that DooWop Drive is using this opportunity to expand.
Even though we won't have the luxury of the terrestrial radio in NJ any longer, we're going to continue to keep this great music alive here on our brand new website. We'll have a new show available on Sundays, starting with our first show on Sunday April 6th, 2014.
With our new platform, you'll be able to stream us RIGHT here and listen at your own convenience. Tune in at the same time as you always have (Sundays @ 7p EST), or at another time entirely. And when you DO listen, you can pause, rewind, fast forward, or simply stop us until a later time.
Also, we're really ecstatic to tell you that our shows will be expanding to 90 minutes. Our new format will allow for more music, more information about your favorite artists, more special guests... and the best part is, it's all COMMERCIAL FREE!
